RE: Functional Nutrition, Lab Tests for our Shared Client/Patient

Dear Medical Practitioner,

Please be advised that I am working with one of your patients to investigate and resolve imbalances from a functional nutrition perspective. I work with my clients to analyze how we can improve their intake of nutrients and to analyze the root causes of their troublesome symptoms. I often use lab tests to help identify imbalances and to assist in creating more comprehensive strategies for each person. I always appreciate working in coordination with my client's medical team. Please don't hesitate to contact to me to discuss details about our shared client/patient.

As a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and certified Restorative Wellness Solutions practitioner, I do not conduct billing through health insurance to cover the cost of lab testing. When lab testing coincides with medical diagnosis, I recommend my clients discuss ordering the lab tests through their medical doctors so that insurance can cover the cost of these powerful tests. My client is interested in discussing with you, whether you may be able to order these tests through your practice so that they can be covered by insurance rather than having to pay out of pocket.

These are the lab tests that I work with. I may recommend one or more for any particular client depending on their needs and presentation.

Stool Test - Digestive Testing

I work with the GI-MAP stool test from Diagnostic Solutions to gain a more clear picture about the state of the digestive system and its functional capabilities.  This is a DNA assessment of the stool that can help us understand a wide range of digestive impairments including digestive insufficiency, microbiome imbalances and parasite, fungal or bacterial infections. Because impairments in the digestive system can so often be a root cause of a wide variety of serious imbalances, we find this test incredibly useful in our work to fine tune a person's overall function and wellness. A comprehensive White Paper on the GI MAP digestive assessment stool test is available here.

MRT Food Sensitivity Testing

This is a mediator release test which tests for immune responses to 170 different foods and chemicals commonly found in foods. Many people have unrecognized food sensitivities which cause chronic inflammation and related symptoms. It is important in the work of functional nutrition, to remove all inflammatory trigger foods in order to allow the body to rebalance and symptoms to dissipate. We have found that this test can be life changing for many people with tricky issues. Please order the MRT 170.

The MRT test can be ordered through Oxford Biomedical technologies. More info herehttps://nowleap.com/the-patented-mediator-release-test-mrt/

Comprehensive Blood Chemistry Panel

As a functional nutritionist, I look for early signs of imbalances. I use functional ranges which are often different than disease diagnosis ranges. I use these markers to gain a more comprehensive understanding of connected imbalances throughout the entire organism.  As such, this comprehensive list of over 55 individual markers is incredibly helpful in piecing together the full picture of a person's imbalances. Please order all markers so that we can ensure the best results.
